The aim is to deliver high quality patient care, through taking overall responsibility for the specialist areas of practice and create an environment to develop excellence within the specialist area of practise in partnership with other members of the speciality team. You will be required to manage and lead two specialist areas, these being Colorectal and Stoma Care dealing with both cancer and benign disease, whilst actively contributing to the achievements of the Colorectal and Stoma Care department through effective promotion and management of these services.

The role of the team leader is to ensure that both teams work cohesively to support the needs of the colorectal and stoma patient whilst delivering against service needs in challenging times.
As Team Leader you will ensure that everyone has a job plan and strive to improve care and service delivery. Future planning includes review of the straight to test pathway, delivering the enhanced recovery programme, management of the patient with a high output stoma and capacity planning.
