THE GIG
Working in a fast-paced team for the Senior Financial Accountant – EMEA, the Assistant Accountant will be expected to input, analyse and maintain the inventory sub-ledger and assist with the general ledger for all EMEA entities – Airwair International Limited (UK) and the subsidiaries in Continental Europe.
Key tasks will include:
- Ownership of “Resouled” project including all aspects of accounting and reporting
- Review and reconcile the inventory ledgers to identify and investigate
anomalies and resolve these where possible; flagging any issues promptly to the Senior Financial Accountant – EMEA including any risks or opportunities identified for the group.
- Preparation of monthly inventory provisions in line with group policies; identifying variances in stock ageing profile
- Taking ownership of transfer pricing reconciliations relating to inventory and goods in transit reporting across EMEA; reviewing price, duty and freight variances and identify/investigate any issues
- Act as the primary Finance contact for Shipping, Warehouse and UK Manufacturing, supporting the warehouse inventory counts
- Maintenance of the EMEA ledgers in accordance with group and local statutory accounting requirements.
- Assistance with the implementation, maintenance and improvement of robust month end processes and internal controls to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.
- Completion of month end tasks and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, in line with the high-level month end timetable and the detailed month end checklists; including identification and subsequent resolution of any issues.
- Liaison with peers (Transactional Finance Team in Cobb’s and the EMEA Finance Team in Camden) to ensure that the ledgers are correct and that entities can meet the respective group period end deadlines.
- Assistance with the interim and year end audit process with preparation of information for external auditors.
- Promote a culture of best practice across EMEA; striving to create efficiencies in the day to day working practices of staff to reduce time spent on mundane repetitive tasks.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Good understanding of business processes and inventory costing, with a sound understanding of the importance of accuracy of nominal ledger postings
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel – proficient in VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, comfortable analysing large amounts of data
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and help others within the team wherever possible
