Thinking about life after school or perhaps a change in career? Maybe you enjoy fixing things or prefer being outdoors and doing hands-on practical work? Perhaps you are looking for an opportunity to learn a new skill? This Apprenticeship Programme offers you the chance to earn whilst you learn new skills. You will be provided with the opportunity to achieve a formal City & Guilds Electrical Power Engineering qualification, whilst gaining valuable work experience.
This is a 3 year programme combining academic study (20%) with work-based experience (80%). You will repair equipment of the electricity network, replace equipment as part of a maintenance programme, work on the overhead cables and pole mounted equipment, erecting poles and conductors.
You will be supported throughout your programme by a wide number of colleagues including mentors, Learning and Talent support staff and business operational colleagues. You will be provided with on the job training and supported by our academic training partners. The majority of our apprentices attend college on a block release basis and can be away from home for short periods of time. You will be supported fully during this time.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have formal qualifications and accreditations that will offer you the opportunity to build a rewarding and successful career in the energy sector.
