At UWE Bristol’s International College, we are seeking sessional (hourly-paid) tutors with engineering teaching expertise to join our successful, growing team. The tutors will provide stimulating, effective teaching to international students preparing to study on undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at UWE Bristol.
The College
Part of Kaplan International Pathways, University of the West of England Bristol’s International College (UWEBIC) operates in partnership with the UWE Bristol to provide a pathway for international students to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University. UWEBIC is a special place, where each year we see students from all over the world flourish as they prepare for university life. At the heart of our educational approach is a belief in supporting students to become independent, motivated learners who will thrive in higher education. We are particularly interested in attracting committed teaching professionals who are passionate about their subject, open to incorporating technology into their teaching delivery and interested in finding new ways of bringing a curriculum to life.
The Opportunity
The College has been growing from strength to strength and as a result we need further sessional engineering tutors to join our strong team and support our students through their journey. Sessional tutors teach modules as set by mutual agreement, at mutually-suitable times. Sessional tutors at the College can take on a range of contracts, from 3 hours per week upwards.
Applications are encouraged from all engineering disciplines, including software engineering and computer science. We are particularly keen to hear from engineering educators and experienced professionals with expertise in the following topics:
Mechanics-
Design

Thermodynamics

Fluid mechanics
The College considers the recruitment of sessional computing tutors to be a particular priority. Whether you are applying with a higher-level education qualification, or as an interested professional with an aptitude for communication and relationship-building, we are keen to hear from you.
Sessional tutors also earn additional payment through their role as Learning Advisors, providing pastoral support to a small group of students. Working as a Learning Advisor allows you to develop your links with the student community and build successful relationships which support the students towards success. There are no set hours for Learning Advisor activities.
