Our Maintenance Technician roles at Dungeness B Power Station are a unique opportunity to work at a nuclear power station to safely and efficiently decommission our reactors. If you enjoy working as part of a team, on a variety of different maintenance activities then this role could be for you! You’ll conduct routine and reactive maintenance on various items of plant, safely, in accordance with procedures and in a timely manner.
We’re looking for technicians from Control & Instrumentation, Mechanical and Electrical backgrounds, working collaboratively with Work Management, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and our Contract Partners.
Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £31,928 - £43,622 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. You’ll receive 28 days annual holiday plus bank holidays. As part of our Dungeness B local agreement for maintenance teams (which is non-contractual) you will work an additional three hours per week above the contractual 37hrs per week, thereby accruing a total of 156 hours per year. This is added to your annual leave entitlement giving in total up to 9.5 weeks’ time off a year!

What you’ll be doing
The roles and responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician include:

Carrying out Mechanical, Instrument or Electrical maintenance activities and feeding back on issues found with the plant

Completing maintenance records in a timely manner
- Ensuring maintenance activities do not adversely affect the environment

Interacting with your team leader on job progress frequently
- Actively participating in personal performance appraisals and delivery of personal development plans.
Who you are
As minimum, you’ll be educated to GCSE/National Qualifications standards (or equivalent) and holding these qualifications to include “4” and above grade passes in English and Mathematics may be an advantage. Those with City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a maintenance discipline or time served apprenticeship may have an advantage.

You’ll be trained to understand and appreciate why nuclear is special and you’ll be required to demonstrate the highest standards of nuclear professionalism and safety at all times. You should have good practical hand skills, a basic understanding of technical drawings, proficient IT skills and the ability to work well within a diverse and inclusive team.
