We are seeking an outstanding researcher to support our 6-month project.

About the role

You will examine the support needs of university academics working in research areas that could be distressing (e.g., trauma, violence, death).

The role will involve identifying research participants, completing qualitative interviews and data analysis, and presenting research findings. You will also assist in generating guidelines for supporting researchers effectively, based on the evidence generated.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term basis with an expected duration of 6 months.

About you:

  • Have a degree and/or masters level qualification in sociology, psychology, criminology or related discipline (Research Assistant).
  • Additionally a PhD if applying for Research Associate.
  • Experience of and/or training in conducting and analysing qualitative interviews is essential.

We are aware that conducting such research can itself be potentially distressing, so close academic supervision and monthly independent clinical supervision will be provided.

For informal discussions about the role please contact. Dr Tina Skinner (Senior Lecturer) on [email protected] or Prof Paul Chadwick (Professor) on [email protected]
