This is an exceptional opportunity for a newly qualified MBA graduate with a technical academic background (i.e. chemical, mechanical or manufacturing engineer) to work within the Fluid Handling division of Crane Co. (www.craneco.com), a US multinational company with net sales of $3bn, employing over 11,000, which specialises in highly engineered products in niche markets. This high profile role, reporting to the Senior Vice President GM, will expose you to a high level of responsibility and visibility with exceptional career opportunities for high performers. The role is within Crane ChemPharma and Energy (www.cranecpe.com) who design, manufacture, package and market engineered flow control solutions for specific niche applications in the Chemical, Power and Hydrocarbon processing industries.
This position is to support and sustain the ongoing growth of the ChemPharma & Energy business through understanding of the local markets and verticals where we operate and have an interest to invest, inclusive of the competitive landscape, channels to market, attractive industry segments and strategic product positioning.
Responsible for the success of strategic and operational objectives including strategic planning and mergers/acquisitions, key responsibilities include:
· Lead strategic growth initiatives with multi-brand/product involvement and operational objectives.
· Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and merger/acquisition plans, including joint ventures and alliances, to meet growth objectives for the business.
· Develop extensive market analysis, including competitor analysis, analysis of market opportunities and threats by Verticals, assessment of the target’s strengths and weaknesses and competitive positioning.
· Partnering with senior VP/GM Leadership teams, the key merger/acquisition objective is to identify acquisition target companies that will provide superior profitable growth for the business. The Manager will develop and support market analysis, strategic assessment, and due diligences to ensure effective identification target companies as well as business to be divested.
This is a key cross-functional role in a global business. Such breadth of responsibility demands an exceptional MBA graduate who has the confidence to take on new challenges and the humility to learn from others. This may be your first role or you may feel constrained by your current role and want to make a greater overall contribution to a business whilst utilising your commercial and technical expertise. You will have excellent project management, problem solving, analytical, organisational and IT skills, and whilst you may not currently have any practical commercial experience, you will need strong business acumen. Results oriented with a strong sense of urgency to drive business activities and team members to achieve goals, you will inevitably have outstanding interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills. Any demonstrated focus on continuous improvement of business processes, customer service, and experience of effective methods to increase margins would be advantageous.
