Reporting to and supporting the Chief Financial Officer, the role requires a keen ability to work at both Group and detail level. As a newly created role, it provides the new hire with the real chance to make their mark, push their boundaries and play a key role in the value creation journey in a Group that is truly innovative within their industry.
The Group Financial Business Analyst is an integral position within the finance department, taking responsibility and ownership for the implementation of appropriate policies, procedures and processes to ensure an effective control environment; providing key strategic information to the leadership to inform decision making and drive business performance.
The role will ensure strong accounting and reporting are in place throughout the Group.
What will you do?
- Delivery of monthly management accounts including variance analysis and insightful commentary
- Consolidation of Group monthly and annual accounts
- Delivering weekly and monthly reporting process including expansion of KPI data set and analysis.
- Presenting reports to business unit MDs, CFO and CEO
- Ownership and development of a group finance function, including group reporting, management reporting, tax and treasury and FP&A;
- Internal reporting, including consolidated monthly management accounts, and ad hoc reporting to business with the ability to refresh and develop reporting to ensure it remains insightful and fit for purpose;
- External reporting, including drafting of board packs and management of reporting to lenders, investors and other key external stakeholders;
- Accountability for cash flow and production of forecasts
- Key point of contact with auditors. Organise, manage and successfully complete annual audit processes with auditors including statutory account and tax computations
- Statutory reporting, treasury and tax management, ensuring compliant and timely filings
- Acting as the liaison for the banks and external accounting firm
- Development and strengthening of internal controls
- Management oversight of 4 Finance Managers who each are responsible for the day to day finances of each business unit
- Be the finance lead for the Holding company
- Drive annual budgeting process across the Group and provide on-going re-forecast position throughout the financial year
- Report to the Chief Financial Officer with timely and accurate financial information
- Production of relevant commercial analysis across the group (e.g. margins, pricing, KPIs etc.)
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
- Support each business unit in Framework applications and commercial tenders
- Adherence to the company management systems and QHSES responsibilities as defined within the ‘overview and context of the organisation’ document.
What will you need to have and do?
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technically strong accountant with a commercial mindset
- A drive for time bound completion of tasks
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvement
- Proficient in using accounting software, ERP systems and MS Excel
- Ability to work in, and adapt to, a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Essential – Fully qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA or similar) with 5+ years PQE
- Essential – Previous experience within a Group finance environment
- Desirable – Experience of MS Dynamics
- Desirable – Passionate interest in the Healthcare sector
