City & Hackney CAMHS are excited to be recruiting to X2 full time posts for Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) / Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) in The Mental Health in Schools Support Team (MHST).
The successful post holders will join our existing multidisciplinary team of EMHPs, CAMHS Practitioners, Educational Psychologists and trainee EMHPS, and play a key role in supporting local schools’ overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.
The post holder/s will work as an autonomous and responsible practitioner within their scope of practice, alongside education colleagues and help to develop the well-being and mental health service for their schools. They will also work flexibly with their team to provide an enticing cross-school offer of groups and workshops which can be accessed by school communities across City & Hackney.
The post holders will work within the City & Hackney Mental Health Support in Schools team, which is part of the wider Specialist CAMHS. This team has a specific focus on early intervention and prevention within the school context involving both whole school and individual approaches.
The post holders will deliver, under supervision, high-quality, outcome–informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.
The posts involve provision of low-intensity interventions (one to one, group and workshops) to children, young people and their parents. Practitioners will develop an active presence within school settings. Alongside senior members of the MHST and the Well-being and Mental health In schools Service, practitioners will contribute to the development of the Whole School Approach in schools.
The post holders will work in collaboration with other members of the MHST and where appropriate with members of the wider multidisciplinary team and signpost families to appropriate support. Finally, to contribute where appropriate, to service development and consultation to the wider MHST professional networks.
