Job Summary
The successful candidate will be working as part of a team to analyse changes in legislation and government procedures. To interpret those changes and document how our different software solutions will need to be altered to ensure compliance and efficiencies are maintained.
Work closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams to help build and maintain state of the art Bookkeeping and Accounts Production compliant solutions.
Main Responsibilities

Provide statutory accounts knowledge and experience to our Bookkeeping and Accounts Preparation teams

To be aware of any upcoming changes that will affect the product(s) and our customer base

Research and analyse how changes in legislation and compliance affect the product

Produce user story acceptance criteria for both existing and new products

Produce supporting documentation, both internal and external facing
-
Provide expert testing outside the remit of the QA team in areas of expertise

Investigate and respond to tier 3 customer queries

Collaborate with Agile team

Timely and accurate reporting of assigned task status as required by Manager

Escalate product issues and suggest product improvements

Ensure adherence to internal software processes as required by manager
Experience
Required Skills:-
Experience of having worked in an Accountancy Practice and having prepared a full set of Accounts.
Finance/Bookkeeping:
Strong general bookkeeping knowledge
Accounts Preparation:
Strong general accounting knowledge, including but not limited to
-
Preparation of annual financial statements for different entities

e.g. Limited companies, LLPs, Partnerships, Sole traders, Groups, Charities

Legalities of different business types
-
Statutory requirements for submitting documents to the Government

Companies Act requirements of annual accounts
-
Understanding of (UK) Financial Reporting Standards, SORPs, Accounting body recommendations

IFRS/IAS (International accounting standards)
-
Understanding of documents HMRC and Companies House require to be submitted
Desired Skills:-
-
Experience of using software packages for bookkeeping, preparing Final Accounts & Company Administration (IRIS Accountancy Solutions products would be preferable).

Understanding of accountancy practice processes

Experience of team based research
-
Knowledge of iXBRL
Qualifications
ICAEW / ACCA / AAT or equivalent Accounting qualification is mandatory.
