This Research Associate/Fellow position will involve work on a project entitled 'Tools for probing mitochondrial function in symbiotic dinoflagellates', funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore foundation as part of their Aquatic Symbiosis programme. The researcher will work with colleagues in Nottingham and Cambridge to examine how the symbiotic relationship between dinoflagellate algae and corals is broken down under stress conditions. They will have a strong background in molecular biology and microbiology, an interest in ecology and evolution and a willingness to work collaboratively with imaging specialists
This role is available for a period of 10 months if the successful candidate starts on or before the 31st May 2023, if the start date is delayed, this post must end on 31st March 2024.
Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week).
