Pet Care Assistant

Job Description

Duties will include:

• Assisting in the smooth running of the department as instructed with diligence, discipline and trust.
• Ensuring all measures are put in place and followed to minimise theft as instructed.
• Delivering results as instructed.
• Identifying and reporting all issues relating to stock or the team quickly and efficiently.
• Dealing with all colleagues & customers in a knowledgeable, respectful and attentive fashion.
• Identifying opportunities to improve sales with good value, high quality, consistent and unique products..
• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues in your department
• Identify and reporting H,S&E issues
• Be aware of and implement all CITES requirements as instructed
• Organising and managing stock relevant to your department
• Contributing to the smooth running of promotions or events
• Looking after Company Property including, but not limited to, machinery, equipment, retail stock and non-retail items for colleague use
• Empowering and developing yourself to your full potential with initiative and training
• Keeping the Manager/Supervisor informed of all relevant issues.
• Putting away deliveries and pricing new products

• Greeting and giving advice to all levels of customer from beginners through to experienced hobbyists
• Feeding ,cleaning and general maintenance of the Tropical fish, exotics (snakes, lizards, spiders etc) and Pet Care
• Maintaining a constant personal presence on the shop floor
• Ensuring stock levels are maintained and displays are tidy
• Daily care of the shop including cleaning and ensuring promotional materials are correct and up to date
• Stock rotation and managing of dates of products
