Introduction:
Pinsent Masons Vario provides a range of professional services to our clients. These include flexible legal provision, diversity & inclusion consultancy, legal project management, legal technology consultancy and managed legal services.
We have developed a new Paralegal Centre of Excellence, which brings together a range of paralegal skills and capabilities, that provides a variety of services to our lawyers and clients.
Purpose of Role:
You will be working as part of a team in the Paralegal Centre of Excellence, supporting our lawyers with a variety of technical, administrative and client relationship tasks.
The Assistant Paralegals' work will include drafting and preparation of documents, the management of documents and the management of client reporting systems. This is a highly varied job requiring a flexible attitude.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing bibles of documents at the end of the transaction
- Preparing Finance Forms
- General administration tasks and assisting fee earners with other ad-hoc duties
- Conducting general legal research
- Data room management/assistance
- Sorting and indexing of client files and legal documents, including filing of correspondence and evidence.
- Inputting of data onto systems
- Undertaking project work (including occasional travel to client sites to assist in large volume tasks)
- Other ad-hoc duties and tasks as dictated by the business and client needs
- Preparation of reports for client
- Managing and updating case management systems
- Assisting with the preparation of precedents/precedents express
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Specialist Paralegal Qualification
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- LPC/Diploma qualification preferred
Relevant experience:
- Previous Paralegal or Legal Exec experience preferred.
- Experience of working in a large commercial law firm and understanding of the levels of service delivery preferred
Key skills:
- Pro-active approach to identification of work to be done
- Strong written and spoken communication skills with all levels of staff
- Excellent organisational skills with acute attention to detail
- IT literate with a good knowledge and high degree of competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

- Reliable, hard-working, committed to high standards and able to demonstrate flexibility in approach and working hours
- A desire to continuously learn and self-improve
