About the vacancy: We currently have a permanent opportunity for an Enterprise Skills Advisor. This post sits in our Student Ventures Team, with a responsibility to support in the delivery of these services to students by providing specialist curricular, co/extra-curricular interventions aligned with Careers & Enterprise and College objectives.
You will work in partnership with colleagues across UWE Bristol and within our wider service Library, Careers and Inclusivity. This service is made up of the following teams; the Careers & Enterprise Team, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Team and the Library Service. We work in collaboration with the University’s Colleges and other professional services departments to provide a comprehensive range of employability support to our students.
Your role is key within our Student Ventures team and works with the Deputy Head of Careers, Student Ventures Manager, Enterprise Consultant and fellow Enterprise Skills Advisors to ensure our ambitious objectives for enterprise and entrepreneurship provision offer accessible and inclusive employability opportunities for UWE Bristol students and graduates.
About you: We need you to have experience within student enterprise or entrepreneurship related work, as this is essential; this could be, but is not limited to, working with clients in an enterprise development capacity – such as coaching and mentoring and having up to date knowledge and experience of enterprise and entrepreneurship activity.
You will also have had experience of line management of teams or supporting others with recruitment, training or development is also key.
You will have a background of working with and supporting small business, entrepreneurs, and social enterprises. With experience of enterprise incubators and the implementation of teaching and learning resources.
You will also have good organisational skills as well as experience developing and managing projects and be adept at working in a large, complex organisation. You must have required experience of working with complex data base systems; responsibilities will include extracting, analysing and interpreting data to produce complex reports and presenting information.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.
Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
