A newly created role, we are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join the HR team. This is an exciting time to join as we embark on this exciting journey to continually evolve the way we operate, to continue to offer the most efficient HR service to support VPK’s exhilarating growth plans.
The HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing a high quality operational and strategic support and advice service to managers at our state of the art sites in Selby and Desborough. They will also cover all Central Office Functions.
The position is a true business partnering role, therefore will require regular travel to our Desborough and Selby sites, as well as other locations across the UK. It will also require occasional travel to the site in Limerick.
Duties:
- Partnering with Regional General Manager’s and site management teams, to advise on employee relations cases; monitoring absence, capability and performance, disciplinary and grievances.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure there is awareness of people policies and procedures, whilst identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Supporting and providing HR expertise in the delivery of matters such as complex change management programmes, union negotiations and TUPE Transfers.
- Developing and supporting the implementation of policies, processes and systems to ensure consistent application, across VPK whilst mitigating potential risks.
- Partnering with management to actively analyse and drive cultural change in line with business strategy.
- Support the team when managing new projects to deliver the people strategy and facilitate implementation of wider strategic business objectives, whilst managing organisational and people change activities.
- Understand external factors and its implications on the business and people strategy (industries, markets, customers, HR, people practices etc.).
- Driving engagement and providing support, to constantly improve employee retention and employee wellbeing.
- Maintaining visibility amongst employees by being an active presence within the sites.
- Coach and where necessary carry out training sessions with managers.
- Assist managers in identifying training needs and arrange in-house or external training as required.
- Provide management information and reporting for key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate
- At least 5 years' experience in a generalist HR Business Partner role within a fast-paced multi site manufacturing environment is essential.
- Substantive generalist HR experience, including implementing organisational change, complex case management and supporting HR projects.
- Ability to coach and empowering managers to perform their people-related responsibilities more effectively
- Sound working knowledge of UK employment law and current HR trends and appreciation of equality and diversity issues in employment
- CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate in HR Management or CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in HR Management.
