Support Worker
This is a fantastic opportunity to join OJ’s – whose purpose is to provide activities for children and adults with autism, learning difficulties and additional needs.
The role:
The Support Worker will assist in running activity sessions for families and carers. You will need to speak with families to help provide them with emotional support alongside playing with children, setting up and clearing away and running the tuck shop. Keeping the sessions safe and appropriate will be a key part of the role.
About you:
We are looking for people who have experience of working with children or adults with autism, learning difficulties or additional needs. You must be able to speak with families in a supportive and empathic way and be confident and professional in doing so. You will need to have a good awareness of Health and Safety and Child Protection. Having a TA level 1 qualification is desirable.
What we offer:
This is a part time role on a fixed term basis. You will be working 7.5 hours per week on a Saturday (9am till 5pm) and there are additional hours available mid-week in the school holidays. You will receive £12 per hour. Benefits include training, uniform, 28 days holiday per year (pro rata) and a pension scheme. The activities are ran from Hillside Specialist School, Longridge, PR3 3XB.
