Job Description
We are currently recruiting for SIA licensed staff for Wales’ leading centre for the homeless in Cardiff. You will work closely alongside volunteers and staff members of the charity to provide support to the homeless in their transition to independence.
Responsibilities include:
- To maintain and protect the security and safety of the premises and its residents.
- To manage incidents, and occasional challenging situations, as they arise with correct reporting and recording.
- Control access and have a visible presence across the premises, providing support to residents, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
- Conducting welfare checks and regular patrols as required and when instructed.

Applicants must:
- Hold a valid SIA licence.
- Proven experience within the security industry.
- Can demonstrate examples of good conflict management skills.
- Be able to de-escalate conflict and use appropriate, non-physical means to calm situations.
- Have a smart appearance (Good hygiene, well-groomed etc).
- Have excellent communication skills and a friendly approach.
- Have appropriate written / oral English skills (Tested upon first stage of interview).
- Provide a 5 year employment history.
Experience in working with vulnerable adults or in a care / prison setting is ideal but not essential as additional training will be provided for the role.
Pay from £11.50ph via PAYE, which entitles you to £1.39ph in holiday pay, plus all the additional PAYE benefits such as pension and NI contributions.
Immediate start available. Successful candidates will be required to cover 12 hour night shifts on a 4-on-4-off basis. Exceptional candidates may be considered for other shift patterns.
