Job Description
We’re looking for a Business Development Executive to join our PRS team (known externally as Connells Living). There is some flexibility on location as the role could potentially be based in Leighton Buzzard or Milton Keynes, with some home-working potential. The successful candidate will be the first member of the BD team, and there is therefore a huge amount of scope to help shape the new department as it grows.
Key responsibilities of the Business Development Executive:
The over-arching responsibility is to make contact with potential PRS clients to set up opportunities to pitch Connells Living. The candidate will be expected to sell the Connells Living advantage at every opportunity. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining database / CRM of target PRS clients, regularly contacting to set up opportunities to pitch.
- Monitoring trade press, web portals, subscription services et al, to source pipeline of target PRS clients.
- Attending internal BD meetings (eg lender review, affordable housing review, regional land calls etc) to source pipeline of target PRS clients.
- Attending industry body events (eg UKAA, BPF, Movers & Shakers) to source new target clients.
Experience & skills required to be successful as a Business Development Executive
- A sound knowledge of the residential property market, in particular PRS (encompassing BTR, SFR, MFR) is necessary.
- Previous BD or target driven sales experience desirable.
- The role would suit a self-starting individual who is comfortable working autonomously for reasonable periods as the department scales up – with the potential to move in to a more senior role as headcount grows.
