ROYAL SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND LIVERPOOL
The Royal School for the Blind, Liverpool offers educational placements for children with visual impairments and moderate to severe learning disabilities. Placements at the school are for both day and residential children.
It is the aim of the School to provide the highest educational and care opportunities for all our children.
RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKERS
Dates: To commence ASAP
Salary: NJC SCP 2 - 4 (20,441 – 21,189) full time equivalent salary plus SEN allowance of 1,401
This will be pro-rated down to reflect term time nature of the post and taking the hours into consideration
Location: Church Road North, Wavertree, Liverpool L15 6TQ
Contract type: Part Time & Bank
Contract term: Permanent/Bank Term time only
Position 1
Tuesday- Friday inclusive : 7am – 10am
Position 2
Monday – Thursday inclusive : 3pm – 9.30pm
Position 3
Bank Contract – To cover various shifts on a, ‘as and when required’ basis
Please note that all positions require an element of flexibility and therefore, should the needs of the service change there could be a change in hours with notice
We are seeking to appoint a candidate with NVQ Level 3 in Care, or actively working towards this qualification. This position would be suitable for a person with previous care experience, and in particular within a residential school environment. It is desirable that you have had experience working with young people with MDVI, emotional and behavioral difficulties. You should have a caring, warm nature, be outgoing, non-judgmental and an ability to work as a team. The role may include a requirement to sleep in (accommodation & additional allowance provided).
It is a challenging role, where no two days are the same, but the rewards are about enhancing out children’s lives, helping them to achieve and reach their full potential.

The Residential Provision is judged to be Good by Ofsted.
