This opportunity will be based in Solihull at Blythe Valley Park with opportunities to work from Birmingham City Centre
Tackling climate change is arguably the most difficult challenge humanity has faced and overcoming it will require experts from all disciplines and backgrounds to come together and collaborate. Arup has made sustainability and the urgent need to transform the energy system to low carbon its most important priority in response to this challenge, through the launch of our climate services plan. We are recognised as leading consultants in this field and are working for both public and private sector clients on some of the most important advisory and engineering projects in the UK today. This includes advice to central and local governments on decarbonisation strategies, managing innovation programmes for low carbon technologies, delivering design solutions for tomorrow's low carbon energy system, and providing sustainable investment advice.
Our Energy Advisory team in the Midlands provides strategic advice to our clients across a range of projects across the energy sector, including high voltage transmission systems & resilience, offshore interconnectors, offshore wind, hydrogen and carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS).
This is an excellent opportunity for a student that is enthusiastic and keen to develop their knowledge in energy advisory to join our multi-disciplinary team for 8-12 weeks in the summer of 2023.
You will provide support to team members to deliver an effective and professional service to our clients on strategically important projects, including:
- Support our energy advisors in delivering to our clients
- Assist with the day-to-day tasks involved in our energy projects
- Coordinate between members of various disciplines and departments within Arup
- Gain exposure to the various aspects of the energy industry
We are looking for candidates who are working towards a bachelor's degree in relevant engineering disciplines, project management, energy systems, physics or similar with a prediction of 2:1 or higher or; data analytics or transport planning-based master's degree or other relevant topic with a prediction of pass or above is advantageous.
