AWE is looking to hire a CAD Support Engineer to implement and provide guidance and support for the development of a number of wide ranging, technically challenging weapons-based projects. This role will be based within our Applications team in our Information Services business unit.
Location – Reading/Basingstoke
Salary – up to £45,000

Key Accountabilities:

Planning and execution of tasks to deliver specific agreed objectives on time; demonstrating control and accountability of cost and quality.

Progress Model Based Engineering Applications and Product Lifecycle Management tools to support CAD/CAM/CMM
-
Resolution of significant issues.
-
Maintain and promote high personal standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security and Quality and be a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing specialised technical support to the Teamcenter user community, in particular, focussing on improving efficiencies and capabilities of the current toolset.

Provide technical expertise in CAD/CAM/CMM software applications (configuration, tuning and customisation).

Understand user requirements and business needs.

Troubleshoot and develop Model Based Engineering Applications and Product Lifecycle Management tools

Be responsible for diagnosing and following through to resolution any problems, escalating to team members or other teams and vendors when required.

Identify best practices and promote the use of common standards.

Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management.
You Will Have:
-
Experience in CAD Modelling, Assemblies & Drafting
-
Strong communication skills
-
Demonstrable experience of working on complex systems with design & post-design services
-
3D CAD knowledge (NX/Teamcenter would be beneficial but other CAD packages would be considered)
