We are looking for Business Analysts to join our growing BA Practice within Sky Data. Strong Business Analysis skills are a must as is the confidence to drive forward all the benefits of great analysis and production of professional artefacts.
The Sky Data team work on products, projects and programmes within Sky to deliver innovative data solutions for the business which in turn mean Sky can continue to deliver brilliant product and experiences for our customers. The BA Practice are part of a multidisciplinary department, and we lead the responsibility for translating the business needs into clear, value driven business and data requirements to be signed off by the business and then turned into user stories for our Data Engineering teams.
You will need to be comfortable working in a Data driven and fast-paced environment and to enjoy showcasing great analysis work. What you'll do
Be passionate about the value and power of good Business Analysis and take every opportunity to showcase the positive difference the role can make within Sky Data and in our engagement with the wider Sky community.
Produce the full range of professional industry-standard Business Analysis artefacts as agreed in the Analysis Approach for each project. This may include BRDs, NRFs, Traceability Matrix, Business Process mapping, As Is and To Be analysis, Target Operating Models, Gap Analysis, Options papers, Personas, Use Cases as well as supporting the BA function throughout project life-cycles.
Work on current tactical and strategic products, projects and programmes and you will also contribute with aligning the many roadmaps (Architecture, Development, Products and Business) that we need to understand to deliver great strategic analysis.
Our development is done in an Agile environment and so you will need to be confident in working alongside our Product Owners and Squads. Business Analysts are key in championing increased agility across Sky Data.
Be able to support, coach and mentor Associate Business Analysts as they begin their BA careers so that we can share best practices, tool and techniques and role model the Sky Values and behaviours.
Participate in our QA processes and Governance Model to ensure consistently high standards of work and learning.
Travel may be required between Sky locations (Osterley and Livingston) to Livingston, Scotland
What you'll bring
2-3 years Business Analysis experience with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and management in a commercial environment. You will be able to evidence the ability to effectively communicate important messages and build a greater understanding of the business's needs through use of professional business analysis tools and artifacts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Plus the ability to understand, explain and simplify complex business processes and needs in professional business analysis artifacts.
Experience leading requirements elicitation workshops, running demos, signoffs and managing change requests. Coupled with a strong analytical and logical approach to translate business needs into clear requirements and then turn these into agile user stories and other artifacts that are easily understood by colleagues throughout Sky Data.
Demonstrable experience of working on an end-to-end process from ideation to production, into BAU, in a matrixed environment.
Experience in working in a fast-paced and pressured environment. You will need to be able to challenge requirements using influencing and negotiating skills and help colleagues within Sky Data understand the key BA deliverables.
Demonstrated experience working with technical teams to collaborate on High Level Designs and have experience of working with a wide range of data sets (for example: customer, sales, interactions, campaigns, upgrades/downgrades, churn etc),with the ability to trace data lineage.
It would be an advantage to have professional IIBA qualifications and experience using BPMN2.0
