Your role as Depot Manager is to lead and develop the team whilst maintaining and improving business relationships with the depot's clients, building trust with employees, and helping drive efficiency through the business. The company is a leading traffic light hire business offering nationwide solutions.
This role offers a negotiable starting salary as this is one of the busiest sites with a Van, as well as a fuel card. Training and Development opportunities are available to improve your management and leadership skills and technical competence.
Main Responsibilities
- Help encourage increased sales whilst providing first-class customer service.

Responsible for managing the working hours and attendance of your team to ensure the delivery and installations of our clients are completed in the planned timescales.

Responsible for supporting our out-of-hours service delivery by forecasting and maintaining a 4-8 weekly call-out rota for your depot.

Supporting our out-of-hours service delivery by conducting a 1:4 supervisor/manager escalation rota, during which you will be required to support our call-out teams by making remote decisions and communicating these on-site decisions effectively.

Responsible for coordinating and managing your client hire requests, battery exchanges, and off-hire requests

Response for monitoring and repairing all damaged assets to ensure we can fully utilise all available products.

Responsible for completing and managing quality checks (Site Inspections) of work carried out by your installation teams to ensure that we are achieving the highest possible standards and there is an embedded culture of Right First time within the team.

Responsible for building a cohesive and supportive working relationship within your depot between other depot teams
Systems and processes
- Maintain accurate asset records within our Syrinx system of all the hire equipment.

Responsible for the daily/monthly completion of your depot stock book

Accountable for the timely submission and approval of all timesheets and overtime sheets before them being sent to our payroll administrators.

Ensure we support our contractor Rivus by providing all depot-allocated trailers are sent to be serviced on time.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections. Additionally, checking all equipment within our vehicles is stowed safely.

Responsible for monitoring and approving holiday requests and monitoring absences on Workzoom.
Essential Experience:

Proven experience in the management of depots and people

Worked within a Highways environment

The ability to prioritise their own and the activities of others

The ability to work alone and as part of a team

IT Literacy, especially in Word, Excel, and Outlook

SSSTS Qualified (Mandatory within six months of employment)

Full driving license

The role will be 80/20 split between the depot and, site work
Desirable Experience:

Basic electrical knowledge
-
Basic knowledge of traffic signals theory (phases/stages/detection)

A basic understanding of traffic light installations
-
CSCS cardholder
-
Competent in driving a company van and pickups up to 3.5 Ton in size
-
Competent in the towing of a trailer with plant equipment loaded

Desirable Qualifications:

GCSEs in English and Mathematics City and Guilds, qualification or equivalent in highways installations

Sector 8 Accreditation, Health, and Safety qualifications, including NRSWA, G39, and ECS)
