Croydon Autism Service – a part of Active Lives – is recruiting a full-time permanent Community Support Worker to join our team and share our journey of progression.
The Service works with adult Croydon residents on the Autism Spectrum offering a broad range of support options and solutions.
You will be part of the Autism team in an enabling capacity supporting our Service Users to increase independence and access opportunities. The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
You will need to be committed to outcome focused, person centred working and experienced in enabling support that meets the wishes, aspirations and development needs of the individuals that we engage with.
As well as a minimum of Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care / Diploma in Care (or equivalent), previous experience and an excellent understanding of Autism and the needs of those on the Autism Spectrum and their families are key to this role.
You will have good organisational and time management skills and the ability to use your initiative. Flexibility and creativity in your work will also be important as we continue to support the growth of the Active Lives concept, with a multi-formatted offer from sessions to clubs.
You will be expected to contribute positively to the ongoing development of our Service and have a commitment to promoting equalities.
