About the role:
An opportunity exists for a Full Time, experienced HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist who will be responsible for the delegated tasks required for the delivery of a fit-for-purpose medical laboratory service. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced biomedical scientist with good technical skills, excellent communication skills and high quality standards to be part of an energetic, highly motivated and dynamic team to provide an efficient and effective service to our patients.
The successful candidate will enjoy a varied range of responsibilities from maintaining the quality management system and UKAS accreditation, training of less experienced members of staff, validating and authorising results and most importantly providing quality service for our patients.
This post will require full participation in a 24/7 shift working pattern and will received enhanced pay for unsocial hours worked.
Personal specification:
- Biomedical Science BSc degree or equivalent
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Willingness to participate in the out of hour’s service
The Laboratory is responsible for servicing the Biochemistry and Virology pathology needs of a large GP catchment area, and the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (one of the largest integrated NHS Trusts in the country). The Biochemistry department is divided across 2 sites, both of which have excellent direct train links to central London. We are UKAS accredited and a recognised HCPC / IBMS training laboratory.
