The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts, as an internationally-renowned centre for the teaching, research of art history and a major public gallery. Founded in 1932, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since. The Courtauld cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, displayed at The Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, central London. Academically, The Courtauld is a specialist university and home to the largest community of art historians and conservators in the UK. It offers a range of degree programmes in the History of Art, curating and the conservation of easel and wall paintings.
As a member of The Courtauld Libraries team, working closely with the Vice Dean for Education and heads of academic departments, Head of IT and other professional service teams, you will construct tools that underpin our digital education platforms.
The purpose of this role is to manage the development, and to administer, the technology enhanced learning (TEL) at The Courtauld, including the Institute’s use of the virtual learning environment, online and blended delivery and design of teaching spaces. The role holder will work to implement and develop use of TEL and work proactively as an advocate for its adoption.
You will build up a detailed understanding of The Courtauld’s digital teaching and learning profile and to respond to enquiries about TEL and related issues. The role holder will also ensure the regulatory compliance of our platforms, in support of standards set for accessibility, equalities, data, and copyright.
You will have:
- Degree or equivalent level that demonstrates IT and /or training qualifications.
- Knowledge of digitally-oriented pedagogy.
- Experience of working with a range of multimedia tools for the production of digital materials, audio and video content.
- Demonstrable experience of managing staff at different levels.
