We buy and stock electrical products from the industry’s leading manufacturers and then sell them to electricians and other companies who require electrical equipment. APPRENTICESHIP PURPOSE
To gain a complete and thorough understanding of the operations and processes of an Electric Center profit centre including a working knowledge of the warehouse environment, gaining of product knowledge, serving customers on the trade counter, dealing with customers on the telephone and working in sales support functions such as administration, quotation management and telephone sales
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
· Minimum 4 GCSE passes C/4 or above including English and Mathematics
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRABLE (BUT NOT ESSENTIAL)
Full driving license
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Warehouse
· Picking and packing customer orders
· Receiving and booking in deliveries from suppliers
· Stock checks (including stock taking)
· Loading and unloading of vehicles
· Dealing with customer returns and stock cleanses to suppliers
· Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and observing all health and safety policies and procedures
Trade Counter
· Serving customers
· Stock and merchandise the trade counter with profitable ‘add on’ products
· Keeping the trade counter clean, tidy
· Organise promotions and other customer incentives/events
Office
· Serving customers on the telephone
· Processing purchase invoices, debit notes and purchase orders
· Processing customer invoices and credit notes
· General office administration tasks

FUTURE PROSPECTS
· At the end of the apprenticeship skills and knowledge are assessed. If the required standards are met then a formal qualification is awarded and an excellent opportunity to build a long, successful career with Electric Center awaits.
