Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Supervisor to join our passionate and driven Cleaning team based at our client’s site in Site Based
at Edinburgh Waverely Station, with duty travel required within the North region.

Reporting to the Duty Manager & Regional Operations Manager, this role will support the management of all aspects of the LNER fleet and station cleaning contract within your locations.

You are responsible for the performance of all operatives on the LNER contract, ensuring the team are completing their duties to the highest possible standards and meeting all contractual obligations.

The LNER Contract Management team works with the Managing Director, senior Atalian Servest management and wider stakeholders to develop and deliver the contract; set and implement policy and coordinate the activities of the regional team. They ensure appropriate governance, commercial and financial oversight and coordinate the central supporting functions.

You will offer support and guidance to Cleaning operatives within your location and be proactive with the continuous development of your team. Taking pride in your role, putting heart into service delivery and leading by example to maximise opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Duty Managers, Regional Operations Manager and LNER, you will lead by example operationally for your Location in ensuring that your team are delivering the highest possible standards, in line with key stakeholders’ expectations. Being an ambassador for the LNER visions, values and behaviours, you will ensure that you put the heart into everyone’s journey.

    • Maintain and deliver high standards of H&S, service quality, time management and cost control.
    • Ensure all targets set by both the Duty Managers, Regional Operations Manager & LNER on service delivery as well as operational performance of operatives, are met.
    • Sharing strategy for set goals and best practice with fellow Supervisors and key stakeholders to develop working relationships and improve upon service delivery.
    • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide an effective service for your team, travellers and LNER.
    • Consistently deliver the highest standard of cleanliness and effective leadership.
    • Support, train and develop the operatives in your region encouraging a positive and successful work environment.

    • Overseeing the cleaning of all areas of the building including office space, communal areas, stairwells, kitchens, and washrooms (plus other ad hoc areas) and ensuring areas are cleaned to the required standards.
    • Managing a small team, looking after rotas, holidays, and performance and responsible for delivering training to all cleaning operatives and ensuring all records are updated correctly.
    • Responsible for conducting cleaning audits on a weekly basis and escalating any areas of concern for support from the Facilities Co-ordinator/Manager.
    • Behold weekly team meetings and briefing sessions with your team to ensure clear and consistent communication.
    • Managing the ordering of stock and consumables, updating the stock management system and also the distribution to cleaning cupboards.
    • You will come into regular contact with customers/clients so it is important that you can assist them if needed and that you can communicate at all levels.

About You:

    • Previous experience as a cleaning supervisor is essential.
    • Experience in staffing, rotas, and training.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail is required.
