Role Overview
Reporting to a Communications DLO Work Controller and being responsible for ensuring that the Communications DLO Assets are maintained and delivered into service in a safe and timely manner. In addition to this, to support other LUL business units whenever instructed to by their Line Manager.
Safety Accountabilities
- The job holder must be committed to LUL’s General Safety Policy statement and the Company’s safety programme and be aware of his/her contribution to the programme, including the requirement to monitor safety performance and compliance with the systems established to assist in maintaining high safety standards.
- The jobholder must be familiar with the safety legislation that is relevant to his/her post and comply with the necessary statutory requirements. These will include the Health & Safety at Work Act, Fire Precautions Act 1971, and associated regulations.
Nature of Work
- Gather information
- Report lack of information to relevant persons
- Assemble tools, equipment, and materials
- Check tools, equipment, and materials
- Deal promptly and effectively with problems within his/her control
- Report to other deviations which cannot be solve
- Follow the correct process/operations for the allocated task
- Establish and maintain communication with the relevant persons
- Field reach Asset Database including Field Data Manager
- Take action to rectify the defective asset
- Complete documentation in accordance with company procedures
Critical experience, ‘know-how’ and qualifications
- Understanding of maintenance in an engineering discipline
- Basic knowledge of rail/underground Communication equipment
- Basic knowledge of providing support functions to maintenance activities
- Clear and concise report writing
- Basic knowledge on LU Communication assets ( Public address systems, Tunnel telephones and LFB radio communication systems. (Essential)
Licences
- LUCAS Card or (Online Assessment)
- Depot/Track Competent (Desirable)
- Protection Master (Traffic & Or Eng. Hours) (Desirable)
- Lifts and Escalators Entry Permit (Desirable)
- Full Driving Licence (Essential)
- PASMA certificate (Erecting Towers) (Desirable)
- Maintain an updated logbook in view of attaining IRSE licence to required category on Communication assets.
