Role

We are looking for a driven, well organised, and practically minded individual to take on the new role of Assistant Logistics Manager. This role will support the Logistics Manager in their day-to-day management of the logistics side of our business, helping to support the planning and delivery of all movements and events

Key attributes

We are looking for a hard-working individual who has a high attention to detail, a passion for a well organised operation and strong communication/leadership skills. The role requires being practically minded and thriving under pressure, whilst enjoying being both office based and hands on.

The candidate must be diligent in their approach, be a natural leader of people who feels comfortable training & have a positive solution focused attitude.

You will be reporting to the Logistics Manager and be based from our Headquarters just outside of Bromyard, Herefordshire (HR74LU) but will travel to sites when needed. During the winter this could be one day per week, but during our peak times you could be away most days and staying away.

· Organisation – There are many working parts to our operation and being organised is essential in making sure things are not forgotten, areas/kit kept tidy etc.

· Communication – Ensuring all moving parts are communicated properly throughout the team and you are keeping everyone in the loop.

· Diligence & Compliance – you must not only follow, but lead people in following our business / Health & Safety processes and ensure things are being done as per the business expectations and guidelines.

· Taking Ownership / Leadership - You will be given responsibility to manage a team and their duties, we expect complete ownership of this and pride in your role.

· Solution based thinking – You will encounter problems and we always need a solution mindset to resolve, done with a positive mindset.

· Training, Development & Progression – You will be responsible for leading your team and developing their skill sets and implementing their training programs to make sure our teams on site have the right skill sets and leadership.

· Attention to detail –It is extremely important that we pay great attention to the small details and it is your responsibility that all parts of the operation are being managed and looked at.

· Quality control –You know what we expect and how things must be done, it is your job to ensure our high standards and processes are met.

· Efficiencies –constantly thinking of ways we can improve; this can be moving kit around more efficiently or changing the way we do things.

Warehouse duties:

· Inventory management & maintenance

· Stock Management

· Clean, Tidy & organised

· Goods in & Goods out – shipments / Purchase Orders

· Compliance / Health & Safety

Event Logistics duties

· Movements to site

· Setting up & breaking down events

· Event day support

· Compliance / Health & Safety

· Leadership & training

Planning & Admin

· Looking ahead at future movements / calendar of events – forward thinking about requirements.

· Team Rota / Staff hours

· Planning jobs for team and forward thinking about what they need

· Communication with APM’s / Event Ops

· Planning of inventories & individual shipments

· Minimum stock levels & Purchase orders

· Communicating with suppliers & contractors

· Maintain compliance / Safety processes.

Training, Development & Progression

· Leadership & ownership of logistics team

· Supporting with recruitment

· Training of new and existing team members

· Developing team to their full potential

Package

· £28,000 - 32,000

· Company Pension Scheme

· Private health care.

· 50 hours per week (annualised)

· 5 days per week with days off in lieu for any day worked over.

· 28 holidays per year including bank holidays.

· Annual pay review

· Use of business vehicles for travel.

· Progression within business
