We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Project Manager to join our Development team in the North / Central region.
If you’re looking to further develop your career this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!
As part of the pre-construction team, this role will ensure that the group’s developments and projects procedures are in place for seamless progression from land acquisition through design development and contractor procurement in line with our agreed deliverables prior to handover to the delivery team on the main works contract award.
Latimer is the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, developing private homes in thriving, mixed-use communities. The majority of homes we build will always be for affordable tenures, but building homes for outright sale is crucial for our business to develop both mixed sustainable communities and recycling any profits we make from those private sales back into building and maintaining more affordable homes.
We're driven by our commitment to quality, community and places that succeed and we deliver consistent commitment to high quality and low carbon properties.
This role represents the glue between the Development process and the Construction process and is critical in the success of our development ambitions.
Reporting to the Project Manager/Senior Project Manager, you will support and lead the Development objectives & commercial requirements, manage and co-ordinate the specialist, design, cost and preconstruction support services during the conversion phase of a project from its development inception (brief stage) through procurement and construction contract execution. In addition, you’ll manage project risks, the development appraisal, coordinate the required project resources and manage the professional team and assist with the contractor selection process.
In order to be successful in this role you’ll need previous relevant residential experience with a contractor, developer, house builder or consultant working through general pre-construction activities or a significant part of it across a variety of procurement types.
Working towards a Chartered Member of RICS or CIOB or other relevant membership/qualification, you’ll have sound knowledge of commercial procurement, the ability to interpret bids and knowledge of urban planning and a history of negotiating with Local Authority planners. Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail are also essential for this role.
