Job Title: Classroom assistant
Job Description Summary:
We are a Kumon Franchise based in Queensbury that aims to ensure that every child develops a love for learning. We offer maths and English programmes to help students of any age and ability to progress their skills and build key foundations for learning. Students complete daily worksheet study developing ability and fluency gradually over time, progressing in small steps and building confidence. Due to our continued business growth, we are currently recruiting for a CLASSROOM ASSITANT to join the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks in assisting the running of this Kumon centre and working with children aged 3 years and up.
Duties:
Your duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Welcoming and settling children into class, including checking them off on the register.
- Taking children’s homework and recording it into their record books, as well as highlighting anything of note to the Instructor
- Marking children’s classwork and corrections
- Dating and providing homework to children
- Helping unfold, set up and tidy up the tables and chairs in preparation for and after class.
- Helping sanitise desks and chairs between students
- Other general admin as / when required
Skills & Qualifications:
· Enjoy working with children
· Attention to detail
· Great organisational skills
· Conscientiousness to do the work well and thorough
· Patience when communicating with children or parents
· Initiative to take action when needed
· Genuine care and understanding
· Good understanding of Maths and English
· Experience working with children preferable but not required

Length of Job:
- Ongoing part time work
- Core hours 3.30-6pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. Saturdays will be available shortly (9.30-1pm)

Salary & Benefits:
