We are seeking, innovative and flexible midwives that will work within our Maternity Service to progress the recommendations made from the Better Births report and requirements from NHS England within our integrated and rotational care teams providing care to the women and their families.
You will be working within the integrated care teams or in a rotational role within acute high risk hospital setting.
The post holder will practice as a midwife within the maternity services in University Hospitals Birmingham working day duty, night duty, weekend and bank holidays and participate in on call when working in the community and continuity of care teams. The post holder will work in all areas of maternity service.
To work as an autonomous, accountable and experienced practitioner and a lead professional in the provision of care to women and their families.
To provide all relevant forms of specialised programmes of care and advice to women and their families, including responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period
In order to support your transition into post we will ensure you are provided with:
- Trust induction
- Clinical induction including mandatory & statutory training
- Local induction within the service /team including an agreed period of
supernumerary time
- Named clinical mentor
- Support from the Practice Development / Clinical Education Team
- Access to speciality specific training / development
- if newly Qualified you will have Automatic enrolment onto the Trust
Preceptorship Programme to progress to Band 6 within 12-18 months
