Why we're hiring:

WPP's Business Integrity team is seeking a Paralegal to join them. Based in our enviable offices on London's Southbank, this role will focus on WPP's business integrity programme.

This programme is integral to ensuring that WPP's policies, procedures and control environment are understood and adhered to across all geographies and markets. It is produced by mapping resources, systems and processes against WPP's risk appetite, governance requirements and regulator expectations, and then crafting actions from the results.

Actions for the business integrity team focus on tackling root causes of risk, and include:

  • in respect of resources, championing and enhancing messages and examples from global, regional and local leadership with communications, training sessions, workshops, townhalls and practical guidance, knowhow and resources for our people and providing "on the ground" support for day-to-day queries from our networks;
  • in respect of systems, advising on the implementation of WPP's policies, procedures and controls and providing a compliance lens for the design and structure of our enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment; and
  • in terms of processes, conducting an annual assessment of business integrity risk, monitoring dynamic data feeds, pro-active management of self-certifications and disclosures from our people, reviewing and investigating concerns raised including by whistleblowers and tracking remediation efforts.

What you'll do:

Reporting into Legal Counsel, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting WPP Business Integrity in ensuring that WPP's resources, systems and processes are aligned with WPP's business integrity programme and the WPP Policy Book including WPP's Code of Business Conduct.
  • Supporting WPP Business Integrity in ensuring that WPP's risk appetite, governance requirements and applicable regulator expectations are understood by WPP employees.
  • Researching, preparing information, gathering information and drafting responses in respect of day to day legal & regulatory queries and requests, and supporting the Business Integrity function to implement remediation actions.
  • Devising, drafting and updating training programmes for WPP employees on a range of business integrity topics including compliance, ethics, respect in the workplace, anti-bribery & corruption and gifts & hospitality.
  • Supporting WPP Business Integrity in developing and maintaining precedents, best practices and data sets.
  • Assisting with design and updates of the Business Integrity intranet page, build and maintenance of platforms and other technology vehicles to house and support the work of WPP Business Integrity and related communications.
  • Assisting with WPP Business Integrity's internal risk assessments including the process, data management and analysis and conversion of data into results and drafting reports.
  • Collaborating and communicating with colleagues within WPP Corporate / HQ and within WPP's agency networks in pursuit of the objectives of the role.
