Job description
An exciting opportunity now exists to join the multi-award winning Oxford City Council Counter-Fraud team as an Intelligence Officer. As the first line of defence against those who seek to exploit and defraud Council services, the Intelligence Officer proactively determines the validity of referrals by enquiring with third party agencies and conducting investigative due diligence using a variety of modern tools and techniques.
Ideally, you will be an Accredited Intelligence Officer who can integrate into a busy and dynamic team of Counter-Fraud and Investigation Officers. You will need the ability to work on your own initiative, both remotely and in Oxford, and on occasion, in other parts of the UK. Since 2015, the team has developed to work in a business-like fashion, not only safeguarding the services of Oxford City Council, but also by providing professional counter-fraud services to client partners around the UK. You will need to be a quick learner with experience of analysing and interpreting complex information and data. You will be confident in clear and effective communication as working with a broad range of agencies is crucial to your role.
More information is available on the role profile document. Please read this document to ensure that you meet our requirements. More information about working for the Council, our values and vision, is available on our web site.
