Trainee Pensions Administrator

Location: Leicester, LE1
Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 DOE
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday 9-5:15pm with 1 hour lunch break

Are you an experienced administrator, looking for a new challenge within the sector of Pensions? Do you have exceptional mathematical skills? Flowers Associates seeking an experienced administrator with excellent customer service skills and the ability to prioritise workflow, to join a well-established company within their Pensions Administration Team in Leicester City Centre. For this role, no financial experience is needed as full on the job training will be provided!
This reputable, supportive company also offer the unique opportunity for the Trainee Pensions Administrator to study a range of Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications, paid for by the company with mentor support and additional time off for exams.

The Role:

To undertake all aspects of the administration for a portfolio of SIPP Clients.

The successful Trainee Pensions Administrator will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

  • Manage and prioritise own workflow and outstanding tasks, whilst maintaining a full and efficient diary system

  • Communicate professionally with Clients, Financial Advisors, Solicitors, Accountants, HM Revenue & Customs, Fund Managers, Insurance Companies and other Professional connections via phone, email, letter, and fax

  • Establish new schemes with clients, including but not limited to, the application form process, anti-money laundering documentation, trust deeds, expression of wishes and more

  • Generate fee invoice requests

  • Assist the Accounts Team with fee collection where necessary

  • Maintain and update client’s personal records on the internal system

  • Assist with the purchase/sale of assets including but not limited to, bank cheques, cheque ledger, reconciliation of bank accounts, maintain investment ledgers and self-assessment tax return records

  • Assist with Property purchasing, liaising with solicitors and mortgage provides where necessary, including but not limited to checking documentation, property insurance and rental calculations

  • Occasionally accompany Senior Colleagues at Client meetings

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of current pension legislations

  • Ensure full compliance in line with legislations, HMRC and internal procedures

  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems

  • Assist with making payments to IFAs

  • Assist other members of the team in sickness or absence

The ideal Candidate will:

Previous experience in an administration/office setting is preferred, along with the experience of pensions or SIPP desirable. The ideal candidate will be highly organised and methodical with exceptional mathematical skills. It is required that the candidate can monitor their own workflow and prioritise outstanding work with excellent time management skills. Finally, the ideal candidate will have proven, strong IT skills, Microsoft package knowledge such as Excel to formula level. If this sounds like you then please apply!
