You'll work with like-minded engineers and leaders who are passionate about supporting the development of your technical and leadership skills within our Engineering Chapter here in DLG. This role reports into a Chapter Lead / Engineering Lead.
- We are looking for a Cloud Networking Specialist who is passionate about building secure, network solutions at scale, in predominantly Amazon Web Services (AWS). Knowledge of standard network protocols is desirable, and knowledge of other Cloud providers advantageous.

You will either be experienced, or keen on developing your knowledge around utilising SDLC tools as a way of working. Such as Source Control and CI/CD.

In DLG, you will work with SREs and DevOps engineers to combine software and systems engineering disciplines to build and run large-scale, fault-tolerant systems so that users' overall happiness with features, service, and performance is optimised.

- What you'll do:
- Publishing network design standards that allow engineering teams to consume them in a repeatable way, featuring services such as Transit Gateway routing, VPC, VPC endpoints, Route53 , IPAM, WAF, Cloudfront, ALB and ELB and DirectConnect.

Contribute to Infrastructure as Code such as CloudFormation or Terraform to help automate networking services

Identify gaps in our engineering products and services utilising native cloud capabilities first to help cost optimize, improve security and resiliency.

Work with Security engineers to align compliance requirements with technical solutions.

Consult with project teams to help design and implement networking architectures, identifying challenges and working as a team to solve those challenges.

Provide engineering level on call support, solving real world problems, conducting Blameless Post-mortems, then creating and implementing technical solutions to reduce reoccurrence

Build and maintain operational runbooks, streamlining procedures, and automating routine tasks

Research networking technologies and architectural patterns by conducting technical Proof of Concepts (PoC) and propose improvements to existing platforms and migration from legacy systems

Reduce technical debt

Improve platform and specifically networking observability, through dashboards and monitoring tooling

Work with others to improve test automation of networking services

Mentor and support the career development of engineering in Networking within our engineering chapter
