Service Delivery *Technician
We are looking for team players to join our IT Department who have an ability to work with our Professional Services team to deliver our data migration projects on time and to the satisfaction of our clients worldwide.
You will get support and assistance from everyone at DesAcc and will be working with a DesAcc Data Migration Engineers and will have the opportunity to advance into a role involving delivering our data migration projects.

Day to Day Responsibilities*
- You will use a number of disparate VPN solutions to connect to and work with both onsite Windows-based virtual machines and physical machines. Your responsibilities include configuring and testing client site access, conducting connectivity tests on either DesAcc or client infrastructure,
- Responsible for designing, documenting, provisioning and support of DesAcc owned hardware for projects which may include occasional site visits.
- You will monitor and optimize performance by benchmarking data speeds and building performance baselines through in-house testing. In the event of performance issues, you will diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network factors that affect project success.
- You will install, configure, and monitor DesAcc's migration software applications and collaborate with a data migration specialist, project managers, and clients. You will also be responsible for setting up network shares with storage protocols like CIFS and NFS, testing database connectivity, and regularly handling large datasets.
- In addition, you will contribute to the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support the resolution of network issues and computer configuration problems.
- Your daily tasks will be determined by the Professional Services team, as all your deliverables will be in the support of projects.
Must Haves
- Seeking an IT professional with a minimum of a few years of post-apprenticeship experience in an IT setting.
- Strong understanding of virtual machines and how to configure them for optimal performance, as well as familiarity with hardware and virtualization technologies.
- Experienced in working with LAN and WLAN environments and proficient in using basic troubleshooting tools like Wireshark.
- Possesses a fundamental level of networking skills, including knowledge of TCP/IP, SMTP, and SNMP protocols.
- A team player who can work effectively with various stakeholders such as project managers, IT staff, and data migration specialists, but also capable of taking initiative and working independently when needed.
- Occasional travel within the UK may be required, with personal transportation being a preferred option.
Desirable Skills
- This role is for you if your previous roles have been in IT Support/Application support/database administration.
- Knowledge of data and associated data structures
- Ability to write and execute queries in SQL based languages. (Experience of SSIS or equivalent is desirable)
- Ability to work occasional out of hours to support customer Go-lives as the role progresses.
This role won't be a fit if:
- You are only looking to work solely to a script and don't want to participate in improvement initiatives and innovation. If you struggle when faced with something unexpected.
