RAF Brize Norton, Carterton OX183LX

Full Time, 37 Hours, Permanent

£30,496 + Benefits


At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing support services since 1997. Serco proudly support the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services.


Within our Serco team at Brize, we are looking for a dynamic Photographer to manage people in the creation of video production, from planning to capture right through to editing and postproduction. As part of the role, you will be using Canon XF405 cameras, as well as R5 and R6 hybrid cameras, Go-Pro 2, 4, 5 and 9 cameras, microphones and autocue as well as Adobe Prem Pro and After Effects. The purpose of the role is to create high quality productions to be used as training videos and media output.


The position holder must also be able to use the R5 and R6 cameras as stills cameras to photograph the varied workload at RAF Brize Norton. This could involve organising large group photographs, scenes of crime photography as well as VIP visits and portraiture of senior officers.


Responsibilities of the role


  • Film and edit footage to make productions for training Squadrons.
  • Film and create Media output to support the station’s Media team.
  • Photograph VVIP visits, including royalty and act appropriately.
  • Stills of engineering tasks, in support of the stations Squadrons.
  • Work with Media officers to create public relations content for the station.
  • Undertake tasking for the RAF police of scenes of crimes.
  • Provide portraiture of senior officers.
  • Photograph honours and awards ceremonies, dressed in a smart attire.
  • Support the stations training establishments.
  • Organise and take large Squadron group photographs.
  • Take identity photographs.
  • Air to air photography of the station’s aircraft and fast jets.
  • Photograph station sports events.
  • Scanning and copying prints, paintings and documents


What do I need to do the role?


  • Ability to operate Canon R5 and R6 cameras and XF405 video cameras.
  • Experience with Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, and bridge.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Display Attention to detail and working to deadlines
  • Be Customer Service orientated
  • Be able to work under own initiative
  • Be able to work as a part of a team
  • Have good communication skills
  • Must have a full and valid UK Driving Licence
  • Must live within 60 minutes of RAF Brize Norton
  • Must be willing to be duty photographer 1 week in 3


Due to the nature of this role, all candidates will have to pass an SC Clearance and colour perception test before appointment.
