We're recruiting a part-time sales assistant!
Geek Retreat is an Entertainment Retailer – a comic book store, café and events
hub rolled into one! We stock “geek culture” merchandise like comics, posters,
clothing, figures & memorabilia as well as games and gaming accessories and our
café sells delicious coffees, soft drinks, burgers, hot dogs, sweet treats &
more.
This role would suit a proactive individual with excellent communication skills. Hospitality and / or retail experience is essential and an understanding of social media is preferable. An interest in geek culture (movie / TV / gaming) is also a must for
everybody in our company, we are particularly seeking those with experience of trading card games and board games, such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon etc, Dungeons & Dragons, manga/anime and comic books.
We are looking for someone capable of running monthly Learn To Play Dungeons & Dragons for groups.
Job Role:
- Serving and assisting customers
- Preparing and serving food and drink
- Assisting with event coordination
- Running 'Learn To Play' sessions for new players
- Running monthly 'Learn To Play Dungeons & Dragons' sessions for new players
- Posting in our dedicated Discord server/on social media (where relevant)
- Making customers feel welcome and catered to
- Cleaning and tidying the store
Person Specification:
- Awesome attitude & strong work ethic
- Excellent customer service skills
- Vibrant, engaging and welcoming personality
- Confident and willing to learn
- Weekend and weekday flexibility
- Hospitality and / or retail experience
- General geeky interest - be it retro, tcg's, board games, comics, anime, movies or anything you can nerd out over!
