At NELFT, we have secured significant and long-term Transformation funding and are undertaking an ambitious and exciting programme of co-designing our community respiratory service, with our partners in the CCG and secondary care. Our aim will be to improve and enhance our service delivery to meet the challenges that face our population in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge through integration and collaboration. We want to improve patient outcomes across Long Term Conditions, to help our residents lead lives free from the burden of these diseases by having extended access in the community settings to our services 7 days per week, collaborative working with our partners and expanding our multi-disciplinary teams.
We are now recruiting Band 4 senior health care assistant with an interest and experience in respiratory. We are looking for Nurses/Physiotherapists/Occupational therapists assistant or health and social care support worker who are passionate about the care they give to patients and who want to make a real difference in delivering respiratory care. You will work in and be supported by a multi-disciplinary care team including nurses, doctors, therapists, and psychologists. Community Respiratory services will be supported with a Professional Lead to support with complex cases and to continuously improve the quality of service that is consistent across the patient’s journey.
- Participating in the Barking, Havering and Redbridge LTC Respiratory Service providing support to staff and patients where required in different forms, locations and helping the effective running and provision of many aspects of the service.
- Being responsible for waiting lists and waiting list management, booking of appointments, patient contact in varying forms and communication with clinical lead and other staff.
- Running reports, review systems, audit, data collections, link working (if required) and policy review where appropriate.
- Ability to delegate appropriately.
- Active in-service improvement and development.
- Able to risk assess patients on an individual basis, advise on appropriate self management, appropriately refer on to other services, able to triage patients with escalation process within competencies.
- Patient and staff education within competency.

COVID-19 Vaccination

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,108 to a maximum of £5,177).
