The School of Medicine wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Public Health to provide academic leader in the area of Public Health and Epidemiology, and to contribute to course management, course delivery and course development. You will also undertake related research and knowledge transfer activities.
Working within a committed and enthusiastic team you will contribute to programmes in the School of Medicine, primarily with the Evidence Informed Practice of Medicine (EIPOM) team. You will support the teams across the school of medicine in the academic leadership, development and delivery of modules, with a strong focus on clinical aspect of Public Health and Epidemiology. You will support a broad range of programmes including the undergraduate MBBS course as well as both undergraduate and postgraduate Physician Associate programmes (MPAS and MPAP). You will also develop and deliver assessment and evaluation for these programmes.
You will hold a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject as well as a professional teaching qualification or membership of the HE. Experience in the organisation, planning and delivery of education programmes is essential, including experience of teaching and assessment. You will have a commitment to continued professional development. You will also undertake income generation, research and knowledge transfer through relevant activities and undertake specific course leader responsibilities in related programmes.
You must possess excellent communication and presentation skills; have an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and maintain good working relationships with other professions. Experience of lecturing, assessment and excellent IT, organisational and communication skills are essential.
