The Rhino Products group are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join our growing business.

Rhino Products Group are Europe’s leading manufacturer of roof racks, steps and accessories for commercial vehicles. In early 2020, we opened a new 87,000 sq ft purpose-built manufacturing and head office facility in Ellesmere Port, with excellent modern staff facilities in addition to the existing site in Deeside, 55,000sqft.
About Rhino's Design Department
Making products of industry leading quality in terms of functionality, reliability and aesthetics has been absolutely key to our success as a business throughout our journey, and our innovative team of designers are the ones that make this possible.
We use the latest software like SolidWorks for modelling, FEA analysis systems to simulate load testing and prove strength of components, and Composer for creating instructions; and also have an onsite testing facility to simulate life cycle testing and ensure our products are designed with quality and customer satisfaction in mind from the get-go. We also work with leading industry accreditation and crash testing organisations to show our products are made to the highest of standards.

What is the role?
As Rhino continue to push forward in these unique times, boosted by significant investment from private equity firm LDC, we are entering another exciting chapter of growth – this role is to provide support to the design engineers in the technical department and to produce 3D models, detail drawings of components for manufacture, modify and manage current designs and to create fitting instructions.
Main Purpose of Role
- Day to day compliance with drawing system, ensuring drawings are accurate and conform to the required customers specifications
- Produce 3D designs using Solidworks
- Produce high quality detailed drawings of designs to BS8888 and manage any changes
- Have a good understanding of the materials being utilised
- Effectively utilise the companies MRP systems
- Assist with any production issues that may arise
- Liaise with other internal departments, including the shop floor
About You
- You will have a genuine passion and flare for Design
- You are highly organised with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic
- You communicate enthusiastically and able to build positive relationships
Qualifications and Experience
Educated to HNC level or above in Industrial Design/Product Design or an Engineering Degree with knowledge of SolidWorks. Valid UK driving licence is required

Salary: £20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
