We have an exciting opportunity for someone to work outside in a customer facing environment and contribute to the management of waterways activities on the River Thames. The ideal person will have a diverse range of experience, be energetic and confident in representing the Environment Agency. The successful candidate will be able to work weekends as part of a rota system.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing and regulating water levels
- Providing safe passage to boaters through the lock and managing activities on and around the lock site, associated structures and reach
- Assisting colleagues and customers with local expertise and knowledge
- Looking after lock buildings, facilities and grounds to provide a safe and clean environment
- Maintaining and developing good health, safety and wellbeing practices
- Developing and maintaining a strong customer service and acting as an ambassador for the Environment Agency
- Undertaking compliance and regulation activities
- Liaising and working with professional partners
- Ensuring efficient records keeping and secure information storage
- Collecting customer payments including license sales and tolls, and reconciling accounts
- Assisting with or managing incidents
