The ideal person will have a diverse range of experience, be energetic and confident in representing the Environment Agency. The successful candidate will be able to work weekends as part of a rota system. Key responsibilities: Managing and regulating water levels Providing safe passage to boaters through the lock and managing activities on and around the lock site, associated structures and reach Assisting colleagues and customers with local expertise and knowledgeLooking after lock buildings, facilities and grounds to provide a safe and clean environment Maintaining and developing good health, safety and wellbeing practicesDeveloping and maintaining a strong customer service and acting as an ambassador for the Environment AgencyUndertaking compliance and regulation activitiesLiaising and working with professional partnersEnsuring efficient records keeping and secure information storage Collecting customer payments including license sales and tolls, and reconciling accountsAssisting with or managing incidents The team The Environment Agency has a responsibility to manage some of the busiest recreational waterways in the country. Our River Thames operations include 45 lock and weir complexes and our aim is to provide a first class service. Your team will consist of Lock and Weir Keepers and Technical staff reporting to the Team Leader and will provide support to other teams. The role advertised will be based between Henley and Windsor covering various sites.
